Bourbon Stone Sour Cocktail Recipe
It’s time for some awesome freaking drinks to return to the web. I’m here with a really nice Bourbon drink that is a true classic. The version I made for the video was a recipe from the Dale DeGroff book The Craft of the Cocktail.
This same style recipe has been seen everywhere on the web and it seems to be the generally agreed on recipe for the drink. I’ve had some people tell me that all sours must contain egg white, this is not true of course. The practice of putting egg whites in sours did not start until after Prohibition and there is not a procedure stating egg whites are required.
Regardless, I am making the recipe and I hope you enjoy it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 oz Bourbon
- 1 oz Simple Syrup
- 1 oz Orange Juice
- 3/4 Lemon Juice
- Lemon Twist Garnish
So lets put it all together.
- Add all liquid ingredients into a shaker with ice.
- Shake well for 20 seconds.
- Strain over new ice in a Rocks glass.
- Garnish with Lemon Twist.
